As part of her vision, H.E. Professor Mrs. Esi Awuah has expressed the desire to see successful manufacturing models in Switzerland replicated in Ghana with the same high standards of quality and efficiency. She emphasized that achieving this goal requires strong investment in skills development and practical training for Ghana’s youth.
Recently, Her Excellency was introduced to Mr. Issaka Sidi, a Ghanaian–Swiss businessman whose company produces hygienic and sanitation products in Switzerland for use in hospitals, homes and public transport systems, including tram sanitation. The company also produces liquid fertilizer for agricultural use.
Discussions explored the possibility of establishing a similar production facility in Ghana before the end of the year, preferably within or near a university environment, where students could acquire practical skills in product development and manufacturing. Such an initiative would support both industrial growth and technical training.
In addition, the company expressed interest in supporting selected hospitals in Ghana with dialysis equipment, which would contribute meaningfully to healthcare delivery.
Her Excellency welcomed the discussions and assured the company of her support in facilitating the initiative. She indicated her intention to visit the factory later this month to gain deeper insight into its operations. Some of the products have already been presented at her office as part of the ongoing engagement.
