The Protocol Division of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) recently hosted a farewell lunch for Ambassador Emmanuel Antwi to honour his impactful tenure. The gathering recognised his outstanding contributions and achievements during his time in office.
Key attendees included Minister Joachim Keracan, Deputy Head of the Africa Division at FDFA; Ambassador Terence Billeter, Head of Protocol, FDFA; and Mr Adam Baha, Advisor for Africa at the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO).
During his term, the Mission successfully facilitated several high-level visits, notably those of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to the World Economic Forum in January 2024 and to the Summit on Peace in Ukraine in June 2024. Ambassador Antwi also played a crucial role in organising three Political Consultations between Ghana and Switzerland and in advancing cooperation under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, resulting in Ghana delivering 11,700 metric tonnes of Internationally Transferred Mitigation Outcomes (ITMOs) to Switzerland in July 2025.
As Ambassador Antwi embarks on his next chapter, the Embassy and the Ghanaian community in Switzerland extend their best wishes for his future endeavours.
