Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary

His Excellency Mr. Emmanuel Kwame Asiedu Antwi is Ghana’s Ambassador to the Swiss Confederation, the Principality of Liechtenstein, and Permanent Representative to the European Offices of the UN, WTO and other International Organisations in Geneva.

Amb. Emmanuel Antwi is a seasoned career diplomat with over 25 years experience in the Ghana Foreign Service. Prior to his appointment as Ghana’s Ambassador to the Swiss Confederation and Permanent Representative to the European Offices of the UN, WTO and other International Organisations in Geneva in July 2022, he was Ambassador In-Situ and the Chief of Protocol from December 2020.

Amb. Emmanuel Antwi had also served in different capacities in various Ghana Missions abroad. He was Minister Plenipotentiary and Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Ghana in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire; Minister-Counsellor at the Ghana High Commission in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; and Counsellor at the Ghana High Commission in London, United Kingdom.

In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, he served in a number of Bureaux, including Multilateral Relations; Middle East and Asia; Policy Planning & Research; Estates & General Services; Economic Trade and Investment; and Human Resources and Administration. He also served as a Director at the State Protocol Department with special responsibility for the Office of the Vice President (on secondment) from 2013 to 2017.

Amb. Emmanuel Antwi is a product of Mfantsipim School and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and History from the University of Science and Technology, as well as a Master’s Degree in International Relations from the Legon Center for International Affairs and Diplomacy (LECIAD), University of Ghana. He has also undertaken various professional courses, including a United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) certificate course in Conflict Management and Peacekeeping; Commonwealth Programme for Diplomats on Investment Promotion and Protection and WTO Needs Assessment Workshop on Trade Facilitation.

Amb. Emmanuel Antwi is married with two adult children. He enjoys reading, watching football, gardening and cooking.
