H.E. Prof. Mrs. Esi Awuah received Mr. Thomas Zindel, Director of Global Leadership Geneva-Bern, who paid a courtesy call at the Chancery in Bern.

Global Leadership is an organisation that supports ambassadors, diplomats, Members of Parliament and business leaders both professionally and spiritually. It also facilitates connections between the diplomatic community and Swiss businesses, while promoting meaningful engagement, well-being and collaboration among leaders.

During the meeting, Mr. Zindel expressed his willingness to connect Her Excellency with Swiss businesses in areas of interest. In response, she highlighted Ghana’s focus on value addition to natural resources, particularly in the gold and cocoa sectors. She also expressed interest in water and aquaculture and welcomed the offer to connect her with a Swiss fish farmer for potential collaboration with Ghanaian academic institutions.

The discussion also explored broader societal and cultural themes, including the role of faith, music and youth engagement. Her Excellency expressed interest in creating opportunities for young Ghanaian Christian musicians to engage with youth in Switzerland through music and fellowship.

Mr. Zindel extended an invitation to upcoming Easter engagements in Bern and presented symbolic gifts, including a compass and copies of the Gospel according to St. John in multiple languages.

The meeting included moments of shared reflection through scripture. Her Excellency selected Psalm 139:14, while her Deputy selected Isaiah 43:1, and Mr. Zindel shared Psalm 32:8.

He also expressed interest in participating in the Mission’s midweek prayer meetings.

Her Excellency noted that such engagements underscore the importance of building relationships that support leadership development and meaningful collaboration.
