The Ghanaian community in Berne, joined by compatriots from Zurich, Basel, Geneva, and other parts of Switzerland gathered over the weekend to celebrate the 60th birthday of Mr. Freddy Croffet, a distinguished Swiss Ghanaian citizen whose achievements and service continue to inspire many across both countries.
The event brought together families, professionals, and community leaders in a warm atmosphere that reflected unity, cultural pride, and the enduring bond among Ghanaians in Switzerland.
Her Excellency Prof. Esi Awuah, Ghana’s Ambassador to Switzerland, attended the celebration alongside the Deputy Head of Mission, Ms. Francisca Patoah Gyarko, and Ghanaian businessman Kobbina Awuah. In her remarks, H.E. Prof. Awuah conveyed heartfelt greetings from the President and the people of Ghana emphasizing the nation’s appreciation for the diaspora’s contributions. She highlighted the vital role Ghanaians abroad play in national development through remittances, knowledge and skills transfer, investment initiatives, and the promotion of Ghana’s image on the global stage.
H.E. Prof. Awuah reaffirmed the Embassy’s commitment to supporting Ghanaians living in Switzerland and encouraged the community to continue serving as a bridge between the two countries. She extended warm congratulations to the celebrant and commended the Ghanaian community in Berne for their unity, dedication, and continued contributions to Ghana’s development.
